The UFC’s unofficial internet king, Darren Till, returns to the octagon this weekend against Derek Brunson. It has been over a year now since we saw Till’s last fight, a razor close decision loss to Rob Whittaker. ‘The Gorilla’ is a precision striker with a background in Muay Thai. His strong takedown defense will be key if he wants a win as Brunson is a high level wrestler. It is pretty crazy to think he is only 28 with the amount of experience he already has in the UFC. Already a strong resume with wins over names like Cowboy Cerrone, Kelvin Gastelum and Wonderboy, a win over Brunson throws Till right in the mix for a title shot.
Personally, I am very excited for the entire Brunson Till card. There are many prospects from the UK, as it was originally supposed to take place in London. Fight fans will see the UFC debut of Paddy Pimblett, Jack Shore put his undefeated record on the line, and heavyweight stud Tom Aspinall to name a few. This card is certainly going to be fireworks, so get locked in with the Geeks!
Geek: Goosey
This card is seriously juiced with some of the UFC's most talented and projectable foreign fighters who will be looking to make big names for themselves on a highly anticipated card that features the return of Darren Till, who himself is debatably one of the biggest names in the fight game and an extremely entertaining striker. Till should be able to stand up Brunson the whole fight and just tee off with his wide arsenal of masterful striking techniques until Brunson sleeps or we start seeing pieces of his brain blasting out his ears.
As for the Co-Main, we have Tom Aspinall, a heavyweight and teammate of Till's who makes this appearance on a phenomenal run through the division. He's 10-2 but one of his L's was a DQ from illegal elbows... and his other L was a cheeky heel hook in his 4th fight as a pro... He's on a 6 fight win streak and If you take away the DQ, he's really on a 8 fight win streak. He's one of the Geeks most confident plays of the night and UARFK geeks are getting rowdy behind him undoubtably.
Also watch out for the little McGregor clone fighting tonight, he could be something big. Esketittt!
